Watch the locals go about their daily work drying exotic fruits and building ships on the wooden yards while enjoying an early breakfast.
After breakfast, we will board a sampan boat to Cai Be or Cai Rang floating market, the region’s busiest and most lively markets. Marvel at the sheer abundance of exotic fruits, vegetables and skilfully handcrafted regional products. We will pull up to the boats for talking and bargaining with the merchants. We will also visit some of the local candy and cake making factories or boat through the green water landscape to see local houses, verdant orchards and ship-building yards. Important Notes
- The floating markets in the Mekong Delta are no tourist markets but wholesale markets where produce of the Mekong Delta like fruits and vegetables are traded. For this reason the number of boats on the market fluctuates depending on harvesting seasons and market demand. Furthermore, modern wholesale markets are becoming more popular in Vietnam. This can result in decreasing numbers of boats being present on the markets.

Took a two night cruise from Can Tho (starts and ends there) on the rivers and canals of the Mekong Delta. It is a wonderful experience. My favorite part was just sitting and watching the boats on the river, life on the shore, and the storms come in. We had several shore excursions, but some were cut short or cancelled because of heavy rain storms. We had cooking lessons on board instead. The crew is excellent and attentive, but not intrusive. The food was Vietnamese, which I loved. But let the crew know ahead of time if you have dislikes or dietary restrictions. One person did not like coriander (cilantro), which is a common ingredient in Vietnam. They are extremely accommodating to dietary restrictions. There were people with celiac and vegetarians who got special dishes. Most of the common areas are not air conditioned so it can get hot and sticky. There are fans in the dining room. You cabin is very well air conditioned, so you can find relief there. The cabins are small, but very nice. Beds were very comfortable. I found the washroom to be very big and functional. I look forward to returning to Vietnam and taking a longer trip on one of their cruises.

Prefect...Awesome....Fantastic We spent 3 days 2 nights on Dragon Eyes 2 and it was the prefect way to Cruz the Mekong. 3 Adults & 1 4 year old and we all loved it. The food was amazing and the crew were awesome. Everything was done so well from the walk through the village, to the floating markets & the bike ride was great. We even visited a small family farm and had afternoon tea there. Relaxing on the boat watching the world pass by was a great way to chill out with a Cocktail in hand. Get up early and watch the sun rise, well worth it. Thanks for a fantastic time. Well worth doing.

Just completed a two night cruise on Dragon Eyes which is the two cabin boat. For the second night we had the boat to ourselves. Fantastic food (courtesy of Miss Lee) and a wonderful host/guide Daisy and the crew. The facilities were excellent and shore excursions very interesting. A bit pricey but a great start to our Vietnam adventure

We had booked together with a friendly family on the Mekong Eyes. Since apparently no one else had booked that day, we got the smaller Dragon Eyes together with our friends. So we had the whole boat for ourselves. Of course that was very convenient and the children liked it very much that they had everything for themselves and had to take no consideration for other guests. We were four adults and three children and we had 5 men available for us. You want more water. It was a glorious ride through the middle of the green of the Mekong Delta. Even though it rained heavily on the first day and we got wet quite well on the shore despite rain poncho's, it was nice to get some dry clothes on board again and then enjoy the delicious dinner. Of course, on the second day, the children were especially happy about the visit to the confectionery factory and it was also very interesting for us adults to see how much manual work was still done here. It was all around a nice stay and a worthwhile visit.

Our reservation for the big boat was changed to the Dragon Eyes. It was AWESOME! Seriously, we made a lot of great experiences with vietnamese hospitability but the crew exceeded all expactations. Lovely people, a beautiful boat, a great tour with unforgettable impressions. I am already planning the long trip to Cambodia... Thanks to everybody!
